Big Bear is a spacious Ski-in/Ski-out three-bedroom unit that can accommodate eight guests in the heart of Whitefish Mountain Resort, one of Montana's finest ski areas. You will be greeted by an impressive 8 foot carved bear who will welcome you from the front porch, and stand guard over your private ski locker. The house is less than 100 yards from the Home Again trail (a green circle) that feeds into the base lodge area with access to the summit for winter skiing as well as for summer activities that include the alpine slide, mountain tubing, zip-lining, the adventure tree course, hiking, mountain biking and more. In the winter in addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding on an average of 300 inches of new snow a year, there is Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Visitors are also only about an hour's drive from spectacular Glacier Park and other attractions in the beautiful Flathead Valley.

Don't feel like driving? No Problem... Getting around Whitefish is FREE and EASY via the SNOW BUS! The SNOW BUS is a FREE shuttle service that takes you all around Whitefish including up to Big Mountain and back during peak ski and summer seasons! We also have Taxis, Lyft, and Uber! If you are traveling during the Winter season, we highly recommend having a 4x4 or AWD vehicle as weather conditions can be unpredictable. 

And then there is your unit...

Big Bear is one of the few rental units that have a backyard and provides a natural habitat that can give “up close” glimpses of deer, snowshoe rabbits, ground squirrels, and pine squirrels, and in summer, the occasional wild turkey. French doors open onto a private covered porch with a gas BBQ and lovely views of mountain ridges and evergreens.
 

The unit itself is perfect for families or groups of friends. It has an open living room/dining room/kitchen area. Comfortable furniture is clustered around a 46” flat-screen TV/DVD and stone gas fireplace that heats the unit. Plus there are books, puzzles, games, and movies for your enjoyment. The dining room table is situated between large L-shaped picture windows and seats 8-10.

The kitchen is well-equipped for dining in, though the historic town of Whitefish with its restaurants, shops, and galleries is only a fifteen-minute drive down the mountain. As an alternative to driving there is the Snow Bus, a free shuttle that goes up and down the mountain with different stops along its route through Whitefish.

The master bedroom and bedroom #2 both have queen beds. Bedroom #3 has twin beds and there is also a full-size Murphy bed that pulls down from a wall in the living room. The unit has two full bathrooms, a washer and dryer, and ample parking right in front of the house. It is within easy walking distance to the mountaintop village shops and eateries.

Legend has it that gently patting the Big Bear brings good luck and happiness and often results in a return visit!
 

Glacier Park International Airport is only about 20 minutes from Whitefish, Montana so getting here is easy!

* Ski-in /Ski-Out generally during Peak winter season - late Dec- mid-Feb – weather permitting. The definition means that you are around a 5-minute walk to the nearest run or lift and do not need to drive.

* No smoking, vaping, pets or parties permitted at this property. Guests shall not have parties or events at the home which includes but is not limited to bachelor & bachelorette parties, golf parties, and weddings
